A Timeless & Classic Holiday Home Tour
This neutral and cozy holiday home tour is one of my favorites. We kept things simple and classic from our living room to our bedrooms. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
This post shares a holiday home tour.
Picking a Christmas Color Theme
Although our front porch is decorated in traditional colors, the interior of our home is much different. I wanted to use natural colors, like brown and green, and make them work with neutral whites, creams, and wood tones. I used gold and silver accent pieces around our home to add sparkle. Now, on to the holiday home tour!
Neutral & Cozy Holiday Home Tour
Welcome to our home! As you enter our house, you immediately see our living room. The living room and entry are connected, so keeping a cohesive look throughout our open-concept home is essential.
Christmas Entry Table Decor
My husband built a small entry table when we moved in. It was one of his first projects in this home, and it is located near the entry to hold our keys and other everyday essentials. The top of this piece of furniture is the perfect flat service to decorate.
I used a white urn filled with greenery, a vintage bell, and a unique decor piece my husband purchased. He picked up this rocking horse at a small decor shop in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, after I mentioned it reminded me of my grandparents. My grandfather loved horses, and their home was filled with horse decor, which we always enjoyed as children.
Holiday Home Tour Living Room Decor
We always put our Christmas tree in front of the window so we can keep the same seating arrangement. This also gives the outdoor decorations extra lighting at night, which is beautiful.
I purchased three new decor pieces for our living room. Two were found within the Jillian Harris Collection at Canadian Tire. The stockings hanging on our fireplace and the star on our tree. The Christmas stockings look cozy hanging from our fireplace, and the star has a vintage look, matching our brass and gold accent pieces.
Everything else in my living room I had on hand except for the snowflake pillow I purchased from Bouclair Home.
We swapped out our coffee tables, and I love this look so much it may stay after the holidays. The round table was in our family room. It gave us more space in a smaller living room, so I would recommend purchasing a round table when designing a smaller living space.
Simple Holiday Fireplace Mantel
Keeping the fireplace mantel simple with cedar and pine garland gave it a natural look. The print above the fireplace is from collection prints. I had it printed at Costco last year for another room and reused it this year.
The bells I had, and although they were not a set, I attached the three with twine and hung them to give a balanced look. The written print on the wall is from Lindsay Letters Co. I purchased this a few years ago; it is one of my favorite pieces.
Holiday Home Tour Dining Room Decor
For an everyday look, I like to add a centerpiece to my dining table for the holidays. This adds to the dining room and kitchen door. I love how the green and white trees fit into my natural and cozy theme.
This centerpiece works because it can remain when we decide to entertain guests.
Christmas in our Primary Bedroom
Add a few holiday decor items to your bedroom if you want that cozy feeling. A simple wreath above the bed and a few holiday pillows are all you need to change the feel of your bedroom. If you want to take it to the next level, decorate your dresser. And if you have the room, add a Christmas tree!
Holiday Home Tour Decorating Tips
When it comes to decorating your home for the holidays, you don’t necessarily need to buy new products every year, although it’s always fun to get a few new things.
You can make use of what you already have, and if you enjoy a change, try placing your decorations in different spots each year. It’s a creative way to decorate differently for the season. Do you find new ways to use your holiday decor year after year? Leave a comment and let me know!
