Bring Christmas Magic Home with Lights
One of our annual Christmas traditions is driving around the city to see the beautiful outdoor Christmas lights. I wanted to include you in our tradition, so welcome to our Christmas at-night home tour.
This post shares our Christmas at-night home tour.
We are starting the tour outside our home. It snowed last night, so the timing was perfect. Although we considered adding more outdoor lights this year, we decided to wait. We used what we had and mixed the warm white with the cool white.
The cool white bulbs on the garland around the entrance and the bulbs in the two outer trees have a soft blinking glow, which I wish you could see in person. Christmas at night is beautiful!
Christmas at Night Memories
When I lived in Bathurst, New Brunswick, it was a quick drive to find holiday greenery to fill pots, planters, and window boxes. It was always a fun day trip, walking through the woods, searching for and cutting the greens we wanted, and bringing them home.
I remember helping my grandmother decorate the outside of her home with greenery. She had large flower boxes around her screen porch, which looked pretty all done up for the holiday season.
Finding greens where I live now is difficult, so I purchased the greenery and assembled them myself this year. I also bought rustic wooden sleighs and cone picks as fillers. My favorite adder is the magnolia leaves that give our planters a different texture and color this year. To showcase Christmas at night, I added mini lights to each pot.
Indoor Christmas at Night
You will walk into a room full of holiday lights when you open our front door. From candles to fairy lights, the glow is warm & cozy.
The Christmas lights bring such a relaxing atmosphere to our home at night. As I sit here in these exact surroundings, there is no other place I would rather be in this moment.
My husband, Roger, did such a fantastic job on our fireplace mantel refresh. It is still the focal point of our room, even with our beautiful Christmas tree nearby.
The mixed metals of silver & gold ornaments glisten nearby, with a few navy blues to keep things interesting.
Dining in Lights
I have not shown much of our dining area this season. I added some faux cedar greens, candles, and battery-lit trees to create a centerpiece that plays off the simplicity of our table setting.
The glow of the lights brings the perfect ambiance for a cozy family dinner. I am looking forward to spending time with our family this year. Christmas Dinner is always a family favorite. What better way to celebrate and be grateful than with a pretty table setting?
Christmas at Night & Family
This is our family room. A room where we watch movies, have many dinners in front of the TV and hang out. Adding a new tree to this room allowed us to enjoy the lights no matter which room we decided to spend time in this year.
We draw names with my immediate family members, and this tree will be filled with gifts as everyone arrives on Christmas day. No one knows who has their name, so it is always a fun surprise and a new tradition we started a few years ago.
My friend, this is the end of our Christmas at-night home tour. Thanks for visiting, and we wish you a wonderful holiday season!
What a beautiful job. Looks amazing.
Thanks so much!❤️
