Transitioning from the holiday décor to winter decor is quite simple. You will find that you have most of these things on hand, and with a bit of creativity, you will feel the warmth these tiny touches will bring to your home in no time.
Greenery
Choose to leave some of your holiday greens in vases, such as faux fir and pine branches. Or swap them out for faux or dried eucalyptus stems. Bring back in your olive trees and leave out your paperwhites. Use faux or real herbs to dress up countertops. Adding greenery is a simple way to bring life back into your space.
Candles
Typically, we use candles during the holiday season, so why put them away. There is something cozy about that flickering warm glow as the early evening approaches. I love using real, scented candles but only use them when I am in the same room.
Expand on the glow around your home by choosing battery-operated candles. These types of candles can, sometimes, have a timer which comes in handy when you want the ambiance in multiple rooms as you walk in. There are so many great candle options to choose from these days.
Art
Some of your art from the holidays may continue to work for the winter season. And if not, you can easily swap out prints each season. For example, I kept the existing images in the dining room since they were pictures of faux winter greens and looked beautiful with the faux greens on the table.
I changed to a winter print from collections prints above the fireplace bringing a completely new look to the area.
Two more winter prints from the holidays were moved to a different area, giving a fresh look.

Collection Prints
The purchase of one digital download at an affordable price gives multiple size options from 4×6 to 24×36. I print them at Costco online and have them delivered to my home. The frames are from Walmart or Michael’s, and I swap the prints each season.
Pillow & Throws
Use pillows & throws to warm up your space in the winter. Isn’t having a warm blanket to throw over you while you sip your morning coffee the best? I brought back my fall pillow covers in brown velvet and this beautifully printed pattern pillow. The mixed textures bring a warm to the furniture.
Accessorize
Winter accessorizing can be fun. Think about pinecones, wood logs, lanterns, vases, and books. Add warmth with wood and earthy tones. Use seasonal fruit or a display of freshly baked goodies on your counters.
There are many accessory options to choose from. Use these simple tips to make your home cozy this winter and create a home you love!
