Winter Skin Care Tips: A Guide for Glowing Skin
Living in a place with cold and dry winters can be harsh on your skin. During this season, it is important to take extra care of your skin. Here are nine skin care tips for winter that you can try to maintain a beautiful and healthy glow throughout the season.
Skin Care Tips for Winter for Dry Skin
Avoid dry skin in winter by using these simple solutions to keep your skin moist and healthy. Learn how to cleanse without harsh chemicals and add small changes to daily routines that will support your skin’s health.
1. Use a humidifier
As soon as the air gets dry, we use a humidifier in our home. A humidifier releases water vapor to increase moisture levels, which will help your skin.
If you are unsure what the humidity is in your home, you can use a gauge that will give you a reading. You want your humidity to be between 30-50%. A portable humidifier is also a great adder to your workspace if you work at home or in an office.

2. Try natural soaps
Opt for natural ingredient soaps that are less likely to irritate your skin during the winter season. Despite being more expensive, they offer better value due to their longer-lasting effect.
There are many brands of natural soaps that offer scents and solutions for specific skin issues. Two brands that I recommend trying are Saje Wellness and a lavender soap that I found on Amazon at a reasonable price.
If you’re looking for natural soaps, you can also check out local wellness shops and markets in your area.

3. Start dry brushing
Gently brushing your skin with a dry brush 2-4 times a week can help exfoliate your skin, leaving it feeling soft and smooth. I bought my dry brush from Saje Wellness a few years ago, but you can usually find them at most home stores.
The best time to dry brush is before showering while standing in the shower. Brush firmly but not hard enough to irritate the skin, avoiding any areas with skin conditions. Wash and dry your brush once a week.

4. Moisturize damp skin
As soon as you get out of the shower or bath, slightly dry your skin and apply a thick moisturizer or oil. Both work amazingly, but I must admit that the oil makes your skin dewy and adds an additional healthy glow.
Bio-Oil Skincare is also great if you want something to reduce scars or stretch marks. My all-time favorite body lotion is Hemp Original Herbal Body Moisturizer. I have used this lotion for years as a body and hand lotion. It has a lovely scent, and it has a non-greasy formula.

6. Adapt your skincare routine
During winter months, it’s important to add extra moisture to your face, neck, and chest in both your morning and evening routines.
I have been using Ann Marie Skin Care’s all-natural product line for the past decade, and I highly recommend it in my summer skin care tips.

5. Don’t forget your feet
Our feet require extra care throughout the year. To keep them soft and healthy, I recommend using tools such as Epsom salt, a foot file, cuticle oil, and Rocky Mountain Natural Organic Foot Butter or Sage Wellness Tingle Mint Foot Lotion.
If you are looking to revive tired feet, try reflexology rituals with Saje Wellness’s Acupressure Mat and Energizing Essentials Kit.
If you can, treating yourself to a pedicure at a spa is a lovely way to relax mentally and physically. Additionally, wearing socks or slippers around the house can protect your feet. I know this from experience, even though I prefer to go barefoot at home regardless of the season.

7. Extra moisture for your hands & keep them warm
Our hands require additional moisture after frequent hand washing or sanitizing, which has become more common these days.
I always recommend hand washing and sanitizing products that are free of chemicals as they are less rough on our skin. We prefer using Attitude Hand Sanitizer and Attitude Handsoap.
And don’t forget warm gloves or mitts when out in cold or wet weather.

8. Stay hydrated
Drink up! Remember to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Drinking enough water can do wonders for your skin and overall health. Try using a water bottle that meets your needs. I need my water ice cold so the Stanley Cup is my motivator.
Keep water with you throughout the day to ensure that you drink enough to get the full benefits.

I use collagen every day to improve my skin, and it has made a noticeable difference over time.
