And as autumn approaches, it’s the ideal time to get creative with decorating your house for the season. With a little effort, you can create a cozy and inviting atmosphere that will make you feel right at home this fall.
Even though nature is full of vibrant colors, I decided to keep my fall decorations simple and neutral. Additionally, I only decorated our primary living spaces for the season. Even though I still have a lot to share, grab your favorite hot beverage and enjoy!

Simple Ways to Decorate for Fall
I’m glad you could join me for our fall home tour!
You’ll notice changes in the new garden bed as you arrive at our driveway. The red maple tree has shed its leaves, and the flowers now display deeper shades of purple and white. The grass is also turning gradually into a straw-like color. We were pleasantly surprised that our friend was still sticking around and enjoying these vibrant colors.
As you approach the front door and onto the walkway, you’ll be greeted by a lovely display of soft-colored pumpkins adorning our front porch. We managed to find some beautiful varieties at The Green Pig Country Market.
The mums we planted a few weeks ago are just blooming. They look stunning alongside the various types of greenery. If you’re uncertain about which plants to use for your fall containers, look at my post on the best plants for fall containers. Adding plants is a simple way to decorate for fall.
I love this new welcome mat from Luxe Lumber on Etsy. It’s just the right size, and the quality surpassed my expectations.
Simple fall decorating in the entry
Upon entering our home, you will notice that our living room and entryway are combined due to the smaller size of our house. To add a simple touch of fall warmth and coziness this season, I incorporated various shades of brown and white textures and colors as I decorated each room.
I achieved this by replacing a few decorative items on our entry cabinet, such as the antique bells and the brown and green foliage.
I purchased some charming floral pillow covers from Hackner Home that I believe will become a permanent addition to my collection. Changing up your fall home decorating seasonally can be effortless with the addition of a simple throw pillow. You can incorporate them into your furniture or baskets to add texture and a splash of color.

Let’s now head over to our living area. To give a touch of autumn to the space, I made subtle changes, such as incorporating artificial fall stems from Micheals into our pots and vases, placing small pumpkins in our wooden bowl, and switching the print above the fireplace.
Changing up your prints is one simple way to give your home a seasonal update. Collection Prints offers a vast selection of photos to choose from. Personally, I bought a frame from Michaels to hang above my fireplace and switch out the print every season.
Decorate Your Dining Room
I absolutely love decorating the dining area in our home. It’s always bright and airy due to the windows that surround it, and the simple view from the large window is stunning, bringing in natural colors from the nearby woods, especially in the fall.
I have a shelf separating my dining and living rooms, and I find decorating challenging. However, when I stumbled upon this simple vase and fall blueberry stems, I knew they would be perfect to decorate this spot. The stems look realistic and bring some much-needed color to the area.
On either side of the window, there are two pictures that I have framed. I bought the frames from Walmart several years ago and switched out the prints every season. These new ones from Collection Prints are fall favorites.
On our dining table, I added this beautiful realistic greenery, a couple of brass candle holders, and seasonal fruit to a cute bowl, a simple way to decorate for fall. Pears are the perfect fruit for decorating (and eating!).
